Completely New Feeling.

Oh. Wow. What an afternoon.

I ordered a copy of my birth certificate the other day from the State of Alabama website. I have no idea where mine is, but it's probably with my passport, which is also incognito from my stint in England. And I need a birth certificate to get another passport -- you get the issue..Anyway So at the bottom of the State of Alabama site it has, "Adoptees, click here."

So there I clicks.

A $20 check mailed with a form last last Thursday later, I find my original birth certificate in my mailbox. That was today.

Are you ready?

Justin Galen Krueger

In addition to my original name, it has my birth mother's name on this photocopy as well. I'll leave that off because of how searchable the internet is. Anyway, I search for my Birthmother's name.. Not much, until I use her middle name.

One entry.
On an adoption database website.
From her.
From about a year ago.
From where she has been looking for me.

This is when I lost it.

So Around 8:30 PM I email this wonderful lady who runs this website from Tucson, AZ. Her name is JoAnne. I give her the reference number from her site's database, and my name(s!) and her name. I write that I'm very nervous, but here are my phone numbers and umm what do I do now and....

About 10:55 EDT JoAnne calls me from Tucson.

"This is David"

"David, this is JoAnne from the Adoption Database."

"Wow." David sits down.

"I talked to your birth mother a moment ago" JoAnne continues.

"Wow." David sits down more.

"It was hard to get through because I think her husband is a doctor now. Her last name is now ----. I told her who I was and said, 'I have wonderful news!' and she said, 'Should I sit down?' and I told her 'yes.' I read her your e-mail to me and she started crying. She was going to call but said it was too late there where you are. But she has your numbers and is going to call tomorrow. I told her she should go ahead and call because I knew neither of you would be sleeping tonight.

This is where I lost it again.

So Donna and my parents know.. And there is no way I can type the rest of this tonight. Suffice to say I'm not getting much done on homework or Blue Cross Blue Shield
